January 12, 2008

What a wonderful week it has been, the weather here has been great. Hope you can say the same. Got some work done in the yard, not as much as I would like…but it is done. Really don’t have much to talk about today but I will ramble on for a little while.

I have been meaning to mention that niece Lisa and beautiful daughter Charlie is visiting Helen. It looks like they came at just the right time all the snow that you could want I am Helen is really enjoying the visit and getting to know her new granddaughter!

When I was at Dad’s last week I noticed just how badly he needed his windows washed (not to mention that yours truly has to get busy on her’s) so I washed a couple of them, guess I will do that with each visit. Always brings back memories when I wash windows, Mom use to put Helen on one side on me on the other…we never missed anything that might me on the side of the other ones pane.

On Monday evening I attended my Brevard County Planning and Zoning meeting in Viera. Had some things that upset me but I also got a kick out of this and thought that you would also. This gentleman got permission and built a hardware store in the country. It is kind of like Green Ridge at home except it is on US!. Well his business was doing so well he decided to add animal feed to his business. Well he had no where to store it so he got a big semi and kept it loaded with hay and so forth.

Well the neighbor that lives two doors down from him was in the same business (feed and Hay) and turned him in for not having a permit to sell that stuff and even if he did he couldn’t store it outside. So there he was in front of us trying to get a permit to build a 10,000 square ft building so he could continue with his feed and seed business. It sounded like something right out of a movie or something…by the way he got his permit.

I believe I mentioned that Grandson Todd had all four of his wisdom teeth taken out right after Christmas. All went well until he got and infection in one of them and had to make a return visit to the Dr. But it looks now that he is well on his way to healing up good.

Bill got a call from the VA about his eyes yesterday, it seems that the VA only has one Dr. that does that and it will be over a month before he can get his surgery done. His other choice is to go to an outside Dr. and pay the difference that Medicare does not pay. On Monday I am going to call and see if I can find out the difference and what he would have to pay. But I have this feeling he would rather be without his license that pay for it.

My tomato plant is loaded with tomatoes (more than ten) but I am concerned about the plant itself. Although I have a lot of tomatoes the leaves are turning yellow. I have sprayed it with soapy water but that does seem to stop what ever is making the leaves turn. Got any suggestion…

After much ado, I finally have my camera ordered. Thanks to my wonderful nephew Kyle. I can’t wait to get it, the humming birds are still visiting my penta plant and I would like to get a picture of one of them. Funny thing though about those humming birds I heard they left out area in Oct, Nov time frame but I am still seeing them. Wonder if that has a meaning of something?

Got to call Bet and see if she wants some oranges, we have quite a few on our tree’s and I hate to see them go to waste. We use to ship them up to my sisters but it got to be quite expensive.

Thinking of Ian wanting a cell phone I think of the one that Bill has in his drawer that has 60 minutes on it and he is about to lose them because he doesn’t use it. To keep it active I just had to buy another 60 minutes for it for another 90 days. Too bad Ian didn’t live closes he could use this one. J On the GPS that I mentioned for Joyce last week I understand now that you can get a GPS that you can put the routes in, not just the one that the GPS picks for you. Goodness I guess soon I may want (need) another one if it has that feature.

Well I have a wonderful idea for my birthday, now if I can just get my family to go along with it I will have my biggest wish for the year taken care of. I would like all my family to come out one day and work on my wall of China…it would be done quickly because of the number of them and in return they won’t be listening to me complain about it! J What do you think of that idea?

Exciting things coming up for me….On Tuesday we have our NASA Alumni meeting and there is about six of us that are going to participate in “Getting to know your members” We have to tell what we did at NASA…Should be brief for me…Mother to many! Then coming up on the 25th and 26 I will be going to the Church Convention always an exciting time.

Hope all goes well with you and yours this week and remember take good care of you! If you have a spare moment, drop me a line.

Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom`g`
