Last Saturday I left early (but not early enough) and went to BJ’s in Palm Bay to order new tires for Dad’s vehicle. They called me yesterday and said they were in, so we will have to make arrangements to get that taken care of. Can you believe that, the car is an 86 and this will be its first set of new tires? Dad continues to mow his own lawn and does a great job of it. Since I was late getting there we went to Applebee’s for dinner which we always enjoy.
As I mentioned last week spent several hours at the press site for launch. Did you see it on TV? It was a beautiful launch couldn’t have asked for a better day. Each time I work I share something that I learn there this time it is that we have 13 more construction launches after this. Of course one of those is for Hubble which I am very thankful for. We get some beautiful pictures of the universe from Hubble and I am glad that NASA decided to save it. Have been asked to work the landing for STS120 when it returns on the 6th of November, am thinking about it but the 4:37 landing time is really early.
On Wednesday Lana had her heart cauterization in Melbourne. She had quite a gathering there of people who care for her. We are all so thankful that they found nothing wrong with her heart and she can go ahead with her laparoscopic surgery this coming Monday. She is excited about the surgery so please keep her and her family in your prayers. I was pleased to be able to visit with nephew Peter, Roby and his wife Jennifer at Lana procedure. It is a shame they live so close and we don’t see each other very often. Dad is all for Lana having this surgery and he plans to be right there to support her. I plan to pick him up on Monday and we will wait together for the good news.
Birthdays I can’t believe that Todd will be 18 on Sunday. Gosh time flies by I know you have heard this one before but it seems like it was yesterday he was born and now he is well on his way to manhood! Please join me in sending him best wishes on this special birthday at MuStAnG pLaYeR17@aol.com Happy Birthday Todd.
Then my friend Bet will celebrate on the first of November. It is about time she caught up with me with the age, maybe now she will slow down (not). Happy Birthday Bet! Also on that same day nephew Rand will celebrate a special Birthday….Happy 40th Birthday dear Rand!
On Thursday I started to work on my football shirt for the game last night. I can’t believe it but it looks like I finally got one with out mistakes. Would love to do one on a black shirt but I am afraid that it calls for talent that I don’t have. It was suggested that I draw one (horse) on fabric but I just don’t believe that God gave me that talent. Besides which all the lettering would have to be white also…so if you see what I mean it would be a year job just putting on the lettering.
Oh well I have done pretty well with the white and gold so I am thankful for that. Bill asked me what I was going to do with all the shirts and I told him put them in the hall of fame J Talking about the shirts I went to Publix with one of them on yesterday. I could tell before I got to the counter that the young man that waited on me knew Todd (no name on the front just Todd’s picture) He said are you Todd Spell’s grandmother? I said (you know me smart a--) I said either that or I am his mother. No he said I was just wondering if you were one of the grandmothers that he had the tattoo put on for.
I said one of them; guess he could see my excitement about it. He said well I think it is a great tattoo and you should be proud that he did it. Don’t think he was pleased with me when I said I am honored that he did it but anyone to mark up their body like that. Would you believe he told me he didn’t like my attitude and again told me that it was a very nice tattoo and I should be honored. I don’t know should I?
Also on Thursday I met another dear friend Karen for lunch. It had been a long time since we talked and believe me we made up for it. We settled all the problems in the world and then some.
From what I understand they are still having trouble with the new building at the church. One of the questions that they want answered and still have not gotten a satisfactory answer for it the right away. If you recall they want us to give 50 feet of right away to the county because they want it. Not because we need it for the expansion. There are lots of troubles with the national Episcopal Church which is sad. I won’t go into the reason but we certainly need your prayers.
Yesterday I went to have my hair done at Nancy’s. She seems to be burdened with lots of things at this time, please keep her in your prayers.
Order a new couch for my TV room which I am very excited about! The one I have in there I hated when it was still in the show room! But I guess it really was my fault I couldn’t find one at the time that I liked so Bill got this one….hopefully the new one will bring peace to the room.
Dawn has said she wants the old one, I guess it isn’t that bad if you like black and white and I don’t especially on a couch. We were so please that we found someone that wants it. I hate to give it to the Salvation Army they charge so much for anything I can’t hardly believe that they are helping the poor.
Football last night was disappointing because they lost again. Not that it was Todd’s fault, he played a good game. I believe that there is only one more game to go and that will be it for my Mustang football.
We hope that you all have a wonderful week and please make sure that you are good to you! Let me hear from you!
Lots of Lovea (aa) Mom
