September 8, 2007

Good morning all hope that you all enjoyed your Labor Day off and had either a great day having fun or got something accomplished at home. The weather here is still quite hot, and believe it or not, we have gotten some rain. Just can hardly keep up with my yard with it being so warm, but hopefully it will cool down some soon.

Pat & Dave came over on Monday to pick up my GPS for their trip. I assured them that it had been updated at Judy’s in July but after Pat got home he called to tell me the software had been updated but not the maps. Oh well he will figure it out I am sure as I mentioned before I am not very good at that sort of thing. Gosh you should see them both; they have lost weight and are looking great! So proud of them. By the way if any of you have a blog and would like to post it on my blog let me know, Pat is constantly updating everything and it was his suggestion.

Carla sent me a note the first of the week telling me that Aunt Ruby had fallen down her front steps. She was in a lot of pain and ended up with pneumonia in the hospital. I have not had an update on her but pray she is doing better.

Got to admit folks I really didn’t do anything exciting this week, nor has anyone else in the family that I know of. So from here on it is just rambling.

Don’t know if you buy your salad in a bag or not, I do. I like to have salad every night with my meal, Bill doesn’t care for it. The one thing that I have learned is when you open it and put it in a zip lock bag; if you put paper towels in there the lettuce last longer. It takes up the moisture. Just a little helpful hint if you have not tried it.

I have got to tell you that there is a new way to cover pot holes in our area anyway. I first noticed it when they put a pipe across the street. They covered it with a large medal sheet. That project didn’t take to long and the road was repaired correctly.

Then about a month ago not far from our house appeared (it looked like a small metal door) on one side of the road with a repair sign to the left of it. At first I thought it had dropped out of someone truck but after seeing the repair sign I figure it out.

For a month everyone has been driving around it and finally yesterday the repaired the spot. It wasn’t much bigger that the bottom of a sauce pan. Is that how they are covering pot hole everywhere?

Only one birthday this week and it is today! The very happiest of Birthday’s to Sue. Hope you get to really celebrate your big day!

Well continue about my shirt that I am making to wear to Todd’s football game….I finally finished it, I think it looks ok but if you are a perfectionist, I am sure you would not agree. I know I will do better on the next one. Anyway I was told that it is hard to transfer on dark shirts on one of the ones that I will be doing is black (you know school colors and all).

So, I decided to go to the Salvation Army and get one that I could mess up.
I thought that I could get a good deal well let me tell you shopping at the Salvation Army is almost like going to Wal-Mart in fact I think I could get a better deal at Wal-Mart and it would be brand new. I could not get over what they were charging for used clothes that people get them….Ok I will get off my soap box and go to Wal-Mart.

I do want to thank everyone that help me make this shirt possible from Karen, to Shirley and also Rita…who wrote afterwards not to put the shirt on newspaper while I was doing it. Too late I had already transferred some of the newspaper on the shirt J Only two more shirts to go and by that time I will be an expert if you need a shirt made.

Well last night was Todd’s first football game at home this year. He was a star as always.

I have a real busy week next week, have two P&Z meetings as well as a day I am donating to the church hoping to get this mess worked out with the new building. Like everyone says after you retire you are busier than when you worked.

Please take good care of yourself and let me hear from you. Have a great week.

Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom & ~g~
