WOW! This summer has gone fast hasn’t it? Here it is Labor Day already, times just flies when you get older I think or maybe it is just me. The weather here is still quite hot, and from what I hear it is hot all over the country. No rain here promises but any rain! My plants get watered every third day and believe me they really need it by that time. My Plumeria is still blooming I just can’t get over that. It has taken me two years to finally get them to do something….Dad and I had a great visit last Saturday and went to dinner at Applebee’s. I am trying to rotate where we go each week. Forgot to mention last week that we had talked to Uncle Gib and he seems to be doing well. Aunt Ruby is on the mend and is feeling much better.
Also called Aunt Joyce, she and Uncle Omar are hanging in there but are not doing a 100%. They have decided to put their house on the market and try to sell it themselves. Jack has a guest house at his home and they are planning on moving in there. After being in Florida for these many years I bet they will feel the difference in the winter in NJ. They just had a family gathering to celebrate their up coming 60th anniversary. The actual date is Christmas Day; I can see why they would celebrate it early.
Last Sunday after church for the adult Sunday School Class in fact for the next six Sunday’s we are having Death with Dignity classes. I found it quite informative; one of the subjects that were covered was called the 5 Wishes. Have you every heard of it? It is like a living will but it doesn’t take the place of it. It is where you pick your agent to speak for you if you are unable to speak for yourself. You are allowed more than one, and it is a big decision to make. The other item we covered and had hand outs for is your Funeral Plans, it is designed to take the burden off your family for the decisions that you want at your funeral. I think my family already knows but I will also be completing that. I think it is going to be a great class, all people no matter what age should have these things because no one knows when God is going to call us home. Some of the subjects in the coming weeks are Wills and Trusts, Assisted Living, and the Funeral home will speak to us. Hopefully after all these I will have my life in order and be prepared.
Birthday’s we have Birthday’s we sure do! Mark’s son David will be celebrating on the 2nd, Bud will be celebrating on the 3rd, his 77th if I am correct. Please join me in wishing the very best of birthdays to them. Then on the 5th my dear Sister Joyce and her husband will celebrate their 43 anniversary. Jeff and Joyce are special people please join me in wishing them the best!
Well now my printer is all set to do my transfer of MY STAR’s picture on it to a shirt. I was so proud of myself that I successfully transfer the picture until I looked at it….In the picture he has his uniform on and the #6 is on it. Of course it is backwards when I copied the picture. I sent out a help alarm to my friends and I got answered back from as far away as Washington State. My friend Shirley called me and tried to explain how to do it but I have decided I just don’t have the program to do it. First of all my scanner doesn’t work so I can’t scan the picture onto my computer, if I was able to do that maybe I could reverse it in a picture program. But anyway thanks to a lot of people who tried to help me but I think I have it worked out…someone else is going to do it for me. I am so useless with this computer, all I really want is it to work for me when I set down to it. I know I need to learn more about it, and it is on my to do list, but have to have my shirt completed by next Friday.
Went to have my yearly mammogram on Wednesday, and all went well. Got the mammogram and was sitting there waiting for her to tell me I could go when I got interested in “Who wants to be a Millionaire” At first there was just two of us watching and the number grew. Oh, I learned a lot like do you know who owned the first civilian Humvee? Arnold Schwarzenegger. The second 30 minute program came on and I was thinking this is taking longer than normal, hope everything is all right when the lady open the door and seen us all sitting there and her mouth dropped. She was so sorry she forgot to tell us we could leave!
The Church submitted their plans for the new addition again and was turned down for 36 reasons. Many of them for things that were approved last go around. I am thinking the biggest deal is the Church owns the property on both sides of the road and the County wants them to give them the right away (50 ft) of course that is 25 ft on both side of the road and they want us to promise that if sidewalks come to our church that we will put them in on that property. Well we have a plan and we are moving on it, pray it works out. Thank goodness for my dear friend Karen, she is keeping us straight and believe me we need someone like that is in the know!
My friend Bet and her husband Don are on their way to Oklahoma. They have a 5th wheeler so they are taking their home with them, they will be gone a month.
Todd’s team won their first football game and hopefully they won last night! Next week is a home game and if everything goes right I will have my shirt ready to be able to cheer him on!
Well I have found a dentist that will look at Bill and give his opinion on what to do with his mouth. He did tell me that it is a very painful operations and he thought it might be a bit munch for Bill. But we will wait and see.
I don’t know about many of you but Labor Day is now just another day for me, but for many of you it is a day off and I want to wish you the very best holiday! Be safe and I hope that you all have a great week and all goes well for you!
Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom & ~g~
