August 4, 2007

Good morning all hope that you have had a wonderful week! Gosh, where did all the rain come from? I can’t remember us getting so much rain. My yard has out grown itself and I must get busy with it that is for sure. The plants have either out grown themselves of have died because of the water. But I will tell you one thing it has not effected the weeds. The one thing that I love is my franzy pansies are still blooming. I can’t get over that, they all in the past have died back early but this year they just seem to keep blooming.

I just thought that I would update you with a picture of my sister Helen’s newest grand child.

She and her Dad are catching up on a much needed nap! Isn’t she beautiful!

While I was on vacation sister Helen retired. She is really looking forward to it and has many plans. She is starting off by going to her son Dean’s for awhile this month. But she has plans to go on a cruse to Alaska, the train trip across the northern states just bunch of things she is planning.

Birthday’s we have Birthday’s…First of all I want to go back a week for a very special Birthday. Dad celebrated his 90th on Tuesday, so if you forgot it is never too late to send him and e-mail card at rpwillett@bellsouth.net Then Lana celebrated yesterday, Happy Birthday dear Lana. Then tomorrow David Todd will celebrate a special Birthday and on Monday cousin Gloria will celebrate! Hope you all have the best of Birthday’s.

On Tuesday most of the family that was able to participate attended a dinner for Dad at Chowders. A good time was had by all ….here is in one of his best moments

There was much laughter and enjoyment for all. Dad doesn’t like crowds but it all worked out just fine. Just about everyone in the restaurant sang Happy Birthday to him.

The launch of Endeavor has been postponed until Wednesday. I worked out there last Wednesday and there was much confusion. It seems they have been having trouble with the phones and can’t seem to get them fixed. Plus we have an unmanned Delta that was launched this morning. I have been scheduled to work today and a couple more days next week. Really look forward to working out at the press site, find it very interesting and I always find out something new that I didn’t know.

David could you send me that picture that was taken of all of us at your house? For some reason Diana doesn’t have it on her camera.

Got such a kick out of Bet, she called me to tell me that she has a Mexican squirrel in her back yard. When I asked her how she knew it was Mexican she told me that she went out to her bird feeder (which was suppose to be squirrel resistant) and put hot sauce on the wire, the squirrel came and ate it right up so it must be Mexican to love hot sauce. She is going to take a picture of the squirrel having its way with the bird feed and send it to the manufacturer.

The one thing I noticed with my trip is that all states have problems with the wild vines. Don’t know what can be done about it, you just can’t seem to kill them. As most of you know we have left most of our acre with a hedge row and the trees are loaded with those vines. When I was younger I use to go out there and clean them out but it is too much for me now especially with the heat.

It was great to have Judy and Greg here if only for a short time. They arrived on the 26th and went home yesterday. Miss her already!

I am really hoping that I can get some cheap flights and fly back north sometime before it gets cold. I so enjoyed the weather, the scenery was beautiful also but the weather was the top go getter for me.

Having trouble with my computer again…doesn’t know what I have done but now I can not see who my mail is coming from. Checked and I could see who I deleted so I decided that I would just delete them and then I could see who they are from….Guess what now it is not showing me who I deleted. I can’t win for losing on this computer. Hopefully next Thursday Sherri will be up to fix it. That is if it is still here I may just get upset and throw it out the window.

Well next week is falling in line to be a very busy one for me, with two county meetings and working at the press site, hopefully I will have lots of interesting things to share with you.

Gloria is going up for a visit with Aunt Ruby, I know she will be so happy she is there. We were all disappointed that she was under the weather and was not able to spend much time with us.

Have not heard from Sister Joyce but last report my nephew was doing well, cut and bruised is all and we are all very thankful for that!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week, stay well and let me hear from you! Love this quote this week; make sure you check it out!

Lots of Love
