Good morning all this week has really flown by for me as you can see in the following I and my family have really been busy. We have not got any of the needed rain and things are really dry. I am afraid that I am losing some of my flowers because of it although I try to water them faithfully. Lots to say today, it certainly isn’t a note.
One of the exciting things I did on Sunday was move furniture. I use to love to move my furniture around that way I knew that I had cleaned well. Have not done it in a couple of years but I dropped something down behind my bed and when I seen what else was there I decided it was time for a good cleaning. Got to tell you I got it all accomplished I changed both Bill and my bedroom around and it wore me out I will tell you that. The wood may not be moved outside, but my bedrooms are not hiding dust bunnies right now anyway.
On Monday I started out my day with blood work at 9, met Karen for lunch at Chili’s then left for my Local Planning Agency meeting in Viera. This particular meeting was very important to Merritt Island. This gentleman had bought 13 ½ acres in a conservation area and he was trying to prove and change it so he could build houses there. I take that back he wasn’t going to build houses there he was going to sell the lots. He bought the property for 194,000 and hopes to at least triple that amount with the sale of the lots.
If when it goes through the system it passes it will set a president of building in conservation areas. I have mentioned in the past how short our meetings have been since I returned, well this meeting made up for many of them. I am happy to say that this particular item did not pass my board. But on the same agenda we had boat docks!
They were trying to make about 34 people legal with their docks by setting a minimum of owning 20 feet on the water. I know it sounds confusing but it would have made those 34 people legal no matter how many feet they owned on the water. The majority of them was a no brainier, just a trick of faith made them illegal but one of them (you won’t believe this) owned property a mile away from the river and had bought one foot all the way from his property to the river in order to have a dock! It is hard to believe how dives some people can be! Anyway it was a long meeting and I was completely worn out when I got home.
On that same day Dad woke up with a very swollen arm and was concerned about it. He called Lana and over to his house she went to check it out. When she got there he was out mowing his lawn! Wonders never cease do they! She took him to his regular Doctor and then in the afternoon on to a specialist.
She told them that he either had cellulites or gout. He was given a shot and antibiotics to help clear it up. Of course he wasn’t in any pain but the elbow was twice the size it should be. On Friday he went back to the Doctor and she told him she really didn’t know what had caused it but it is well on its way to healing. He told her that his girls did not believe that he would hear everything she told him so she gave him a document three pages long telling about the test etc. So he is on his way to being healthy again.
At the same time all this was going on nephew Peter had gone to Daytona on Sunday. He was tired and fell asleep by the water for over two hours! When he awoke he was a mess, it is bad enough when that happens to people who visit here but to happen to a local? Anyway, he was burnt quite badly but insisted he was fine but as the hours went by he got worse. His brother William stayed with him and finally he was so concerned about Peter that he called an ambulance to take him to the hospital.
I was told that he had blisters on his body as big as golf balls. He stayed in the emergency room over 24 hours before they had a room to admit him. He has second and third degree burns all over his body. His feet and legs are twice their normal size. Bless his heart, Dad and I went to see him on Wednesday and he was a mess and in so much pain. Please remember him in your prayers.
My granddaughter Krista has been having trouble almost all her life with pains in her stomach area and swelling. They have taken her too many different Doctors and they all have said the same thing that it was caused by her growing, stress, etc., but no one has found the cause of it as yet. On Tuesday Diana took her to another specialist and this Doctor seems to at least know what he is doing he has order tests that should give her some results. Diana is quite pleased about that, there has to be something that is causing this problem.
So with anything like this the question is asked does anyone in our family have bowel problems? Of course I am only talking about the family here not friends. So if you know of any problems let us know.
On Tuesday evening I attended the Federally Employed Women Award dinner that was held in Cocoa. I was given a great honor by being able to present Awards to the local Community College as well as give scholarships to three of our members. I also got a life time achievement award which was a great thing for me.
Poor Nancy is a black and blue mess from her accident, but she is doing better.
Bill has polyps in the bottom of his mouth, I have never seen anything like it. He has had them for years. They don’t hurt him, but they are slowly pushing his bottom teeth out. He doesn’t have many teeth left, each time he goes to the VA he asked for a bridge or something and they never do anything he says.
Well I found out this week that they have been telling him for years they have to be removed, they can’t do anything until they are, can’t even take x-rays I was told. The problem is he would have to go to Tampa to get it done and he will not do it. I was told by the person at the VA that it would be a very painful surgery. So he insisted on a second opinion so he went to a local dentist yesterday and so he got it!
This dentist said a bridge could be put in his mouth and that those polyps do not have to be removed. Of course he would be glad to do it and it would only cost him about $11,000. We will see what happens next with this.
Don’t know about you but I have been received a lot of telemarketers calls lately. I thought that I had registered for life on the do not call list but I found out thanks to Dad that it has a limited life you have to register every so many years in this case it is five. If you are receiving a lot of those calls it won’t hurt to register again at https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplaiDnCheck.aspx
First of all we have a special anniversary this week, Jess and Casey will celebrate their 2nd Anniversary on the 25th. Want to wish them the very best and happiness always! Then we have a special birthday’s this week nephew Kyle will celebrate on the 29, gosh time goes so fast it is hard to believe that he is 21. Hope you have a wonderful Birthday Kyle.
On Thursday, I went out to work the landing, but no landing. The sky looked like we were really going to get a down pour so the landing was canceled and they tried again yesterday. By the way no rain came out of those treating clouds on Thursday or Friday, at least not here on North Merritt Island. But we are very thankful that they landed safely in California!
As you can see this has been quite a busy week for all, most likely next week I will be really looking for something to fill a couple pages with! Well I hope that you all have a wonderful week and that this has found you in good health!
Lots of Love
