Well here we are another week has flown by hope it has been a great week for you. Have got some work done in the yard, but unlike Bet I just can’t stand the heat so my hours out doors is really limited. We have gotten some rain but not enough to do any good.
Last Saturday I picked up subs for dinner for Dad and I and we watched the Belmont. I bet you didn’t know that they could talk two hours about a race that takes about five minutes to run. The winner is a beautiful horse, and it is a Philly the first one to win the Belmont in 102 years.
Got a special birthday coming up on Monday; it is hard to believe that my Stacey will be 24 years old. I want to wish her the very best of birthdays! I went to a little get together for her last night to celebrate her birthday. She and her Dad are off to Atlanta to see a Braves game today.
On Monday I attended the Planning and Zoning meeting in Viera. It was a short meeting but there is one thing that I can’t get over in these meetings. You see Brevard County is sectioned off into districts. Each district has two members representing them at this meeting plus and alternate. The alternate is only allowed to vote if the regular member isn’t there. When I last served on this board the item that came before us was in your district you were expected to make the recommendation for that item. Now it is who ever that can turn their mic on first, makes the recommendation. A little upsetting on my part, but I guess I will just have to learn to be quick on the draw.
At least a year ago, Dad bought a bottle of Home Defense. It is to spray for bug inside the house. I know it had to be over a year ago because I sprayed the house for Dad after his accident. Well he decided it was time to spray again but the sprayer on the bottle no longer worked. So he went on line and sent them a note about it. Well they say action gets the job done and he sure got answer and they are sending him a new sprayer. So that is a good work for Home Defense!
The grass in Dad’s back yard is really going to pot. In fact one of his beloved Maple trees has died. He seems to think that it is from lack of rain, but I think he has some kind of bugs in the grass that is killing it. He is still having trouble with Cisco getting ticks out in the yard also. He is looking into what he should spray his yard with, but he loves his yard I wonder if it wouldn’t be better to get a yard service to spray?
Poor Nancy if she didn’t have bad luck she wouldn’t have any luck at all. It has been just a month or so since she has gotten her car back from an accident that she had. This week she hit water in the middle of the road and her car froze up and she hit a tree. Thank God she is ok but she sure feels down about it.
Got a note from Sue and Paul inviting me to stop at their house while on my trip if I was going to be close to where they live? I was very pleased with the invite but assured her that I won’t be close to where they live, I very hard to be as far away from the Garden State PKWY and 95 as I can get after I hit Richmond.
Sue tells me that Linda is hardly able to get out of bed anymore and is not eating. She has fought a hard battle against cancer and it isn’t looking good. Please remember her in your prayers as well as her husband Carl. For any of you that have been or are a care giver you know it is a very hard job.
One of the movies that I watched this week was called The Hard Way. It stared Michael J. Fox and James Wood. It really was a funny movie and it was hard to believe that James Wood would play a straight man for Michael J. Fox. Highly recommend it if you need a good laugh.
Yesterday was Baxley Manor day; we did very well in collecting items which is always a great feeling. Lori and Jan do a great job buying items that we need for them, they find every sale that there is. It must be a hard job being the coordinator there because we now have lost another one. I know it would be hard for me to deal with those people every day and not be able to give them the things they need to survive.
Next week I shall be on the run a lot, lots of meetings to attend and some of them very important.
Tomorrow is Fathers Day and I want to wish all you Dad’s the very best on your special day! I am very pleased that I still have my Father and he has done a great job at being a Dad! What do you give your Dad who has everything……..LOVE and ATTENTION. Mine demands both.
Well I hope that you all have a wonderful week and that this has finds you in good health and ready to take on the world!
Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom & ~g~
