First of all I want to send our best wishes to Peter Paige who turns 26 today, gosh time flies by it seems just like yesterday he was born! Hope you have the best of birthdays Peter!
As many of you know when I go to Fort Fairfield I do the tour of the cemeteries and put new flowers on them. Helen was in Presque Isle for a hospital conference and decided to put the new flowers on for Memorial Day. She found Cooks Florist in Presque Isle who does a wonderful job. They told her when they needed to be replaced if she bought the holder back they would redo them. It is the strangest thing when she went to Mom’s and Grammy & Grampy Adams plot the flowers were missing along with the holder. Hopefully someone didn't take them. It would be a savings to be able to use the holder again.
I told you that my friend Bet’s broke her arm while on vacation in Mexico. When she returned she was having trouble with her thumb swelling so back to the Doctor she went, and you will never guess she had to have surgery on the arm and a plate put in and of course a new cast. Thankfully she is well on her way to recovery now.
I was all excited; I finally ordered my new curtains for the Florida Room. It has only been a year since I took the others down. Even when I ordered them I had to wait a month for them they were back ordered. Well the new rods, and the curtains came about two weeks ago, I opened the package to make sure they were what I wanted but did not take them all out.
Bill finally arranged for the handy man to come to install the rods and that is when I found out that I didn't have all the curtains! So I called Penney’s about it and I was told that the order was canceled for the shorter curtains. I reordered them and it is going to take another week before they get here! Can you imagine, I just know I better love them when they come .
Dad learned from Aunt Ruby that Uncle Omar was having health problems again, so I called and talked to Aunt Joyce. When I talked to her last Saturday, they had not learned what was causing the problem but he can only eat soft food and afterwards he has to lie flat while his body digests what he has eaten.
I am planning to call today and getting an update on him. Aunt Joyce is on oxygen 24 hours a day now but she sounds in high sprits. Her birthday was last Saturday and she was 77. She told me that she and Uncle Omar will celebrate their 60th anniversary this year. The anniversary is actually in December but they plan to celebrate with all the family sometime in August. Please keep them in your prayers. Another one to keep high on your prayer list is Clyde's sister Linda, she is now bedridden.
Ok here is the run down on the trip to Maine. Nancy and I will leave here on the 13th of July arriving at Judy’s in Pattenburg, NJ on the 14th. On the 16th we will leave for Liz’s in Milford, NH. I will leave on the 17th for Joyce’s in Calais, Me. On the 18th, Nancy will return home to Florida and Diana, Krista and Torey will arrive in Portland the same day at 10:10 pm. Dear Rand will pick them up and take them to his home.
On the 19th he will take them to Helen’s where they will ride with Lana and Shari up to Presque Isle. Also on the 19th Joyce and I will leave Calais for Presque Isle. That night I will be going to my 50th class reunion (really looking forward to that). On the 20th we will visit Aunt Ruby and then take the cemetery tour. On the 21st, I am hoping to see the Potato Blossom Festival parade in Fort Fairfield if it isn’t too late in the day and then return to Calais. On the 23rd Diana, Krista, Torey and I will go to Helen’s in Winslow.
On the 24th we will head to Manchester, NH where Krista and Torey will catch a flight back to Florida. Diana and I will continue on to Ware, MA where we will visit with David and Johanna. On the 26th we will be heading towards Florida. Now if that doesn't take your breath away nothing will I am tired before I start.
Of course we will be in Ft. Fairfield at the height of the Potato Blossom Festival…did you know potato’s have blossoms?Lana’s son William has really been wonderful to Dad this week! He not only mowed his lawn (have you know he can do it himself) cleaned the side walk, did all the trimming he was just the greatest and Dad really appreciated all that he did.
My friend Karen gave me the movie the Queen, I think I mentioned it sometime back, for some reason I put off watching it until last night. I found it to be an excellent movie, if you have not seen it I highly recommend it.
It is nice to see the other side of the story. I remember my Grandmother Adams was crazy about the Queen of England. I couldn't figure it out then I was too young but if the song “God Bless the Queen” came on she would stop whatever she was doing and place her hand over her heart and sing her heart out.
We had a nice surprise this week, Grandson Patrick came over for a visit, and he must have stayed two hours. It was quite a treat; he brought over tomatos and peppers from his Mom’s garden. He is still going to school full time and he is looking for a job.
Well as most of you know we have a launch coming up on Friday. I will be working just about everyday out at the Press site. They called me to work the causeway (didn't know I was so good) but I had already agreed to work the Press site. I really like it much better out there; I am not out in the elements and still have a wonderful view of the launch. While I am out there on Monday got to get the launch envelopes, don’t know where my brain has been, I always have them way ahead of time.
Well I hope that you all have a wonderful week and that this has found you and your family in good health!
Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom & ~g~
