May 19, 2007

What a wonderful day this has started off to be, hope it is the same for you and yours. We did have one good day of rain but of course it hasn’t been enough. Of course the temperature has raisin some what so we are now of to a hot summer I am sure!

Went for my visit with Dad last Saturday and he was quite pleased that William (Lana’s son) had come over and insisted on mowing his lawn. He was quite confident that he could do it himself, but was pleased that William insisted on doing it. We went to Chili’s for dinner and the food was good, but the services had something lacking J

What a wonderful Mother’s day I had, it didn’t look like it was going to turn out that way, had a 10 0’clock brunch and a 1 0’clock lunch set when I started off the day, but it all turned out wonderful. One of the best Mother’s days that I have had. I really debated about going to church that morning, was kind of depressed but went anyway and that is when my day started of the be the greatest.

When I arrived there, my daughter Diana and her whole family was waiting for me including Krista’s boyfriend! I cannot begin to tell you how happy that made me! Maybe sometime my whole family will go with me again. Anyway afterwards we went to Nancy’s for brunch and Pat was there also! We had a great brunch and watched the film “Because I said So” Nancy said it was a great Mother and daughter film, and I really enjoyed it! Pat still wanted to go to lunch but I was too full to do so.

If that wasn’t enough I had hardly been home a short time when my other grandson Patrick came over baring purple tulips and a beautiful angel from Dawn that was to go outside! It was wonderful and I hope that you all had a wonderful Mom’s day also.

To continue on with the day…..I had mentioned two weeks ago about the light on my barn and threatened to change it myself…..well I did that on Saturday! But, while I was carrying the ladder and bulb down to the barn, I dropped the light! Not on the ground, on the cement by the barn! Sounds right doesn’t it! I seen that there was a crack in the bulb but hoped it would still work so up I climbed and changed the bulb.

I am sure it is no surprise to you that when it came time for the light to go on……it didn’t! So my plans for after church on Sunday were to get a new bulb and change it. But I didn’t have to worry about that cause Todd climbed up and changed it for me. When the light came on that night it really lit up the awning but nothing else I thought that the bulb was not strong enough but after moving the light up and to the right it worked great. The bulb I got has a two year guarantee so I figure I won’t have to worry about it until I am 71.

I got a call from dear friend Bet who is in Mexico on vacation. She says the sidewalks there are terrible and rightly so, because she fell and broke her arm. She was just thankful that she didn’t break her hip! I hope the rest of her vacation will be much better. Talk about vacations, Pat and Dave are off to Chicago this weekend to meet friends that he use to work with. Hope they have a great trip!

Carla took the picture to Aunt Ruby and this is who she identified in the picture….great for history

Went to Todd's spring game on Wednesday and he showed what a star he really is. A very good game Bill asked me all kinds of questions about the game but I could only tell him what Todd did. Really hope that more of the family will be able to come see him play. It is so hard to believe he will be entering his senior year in the fall. Gosh, time flies by doesn’t it?

I am so thrilled Karen found my Sense and Sensibility in Orlando for only $6. So now on to find Room with the View! For some reason now I am really into period movies. Karen loaded me up with a bunch of other movies which I have got to start on. One of them is Queen, have you seen it yet?

Yesterday was Baxley Manor day, and all went well with the delivery. I am always pleased when things go well, bless their hearts it is hard to believe that there are people out there that can’t afford toilet paper!

Krista boyfriend Torey graduated last night. It was an outside graduation and it sure looked like rain. But thankfully I don’t think it did. You all know how I feel about graduations, so I was missing from the group. On Sunday they are having a party at his grandmothers for him, not sure if I will go or not.

Well I hope that you all have a wonderful week and that this has found you in good health!

Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom & ~g~
