Good morning all hope all is going well with you and yours. The weather here has been kind of a mix….temperature wise it has been great! It has been so different, it has been cloudy and looking like it is going to rain but we have gotten very little of the liquid stuff which we need very badly. There are fires going all around us, and I suspect it won't be long that it will be here at the center.

They do a control burn every year so I am sure it is coming. I have done some work in the yard but must get busy and stop putting it off but the smoke has been so bad that it is hard to work out there in it, not to mention the wind!

Sister Judy sent me some articles about slugs in your garden, did you know that if you put crushed egg shells at the base of the plant it will deter slugs and other pesky bugs away from your plants? I didn't, but I will have to save up a while to have enough.

Had a nice visit to Dads last Saturday, it is that time of year for the triple crown of horse racing. Dad was sure the race was at 5 but it didn't get over until about 6:20 which was fine we didn't have anything pressing that we had to do. Afterwards he and Helen and I went to Chowders and had a wonderful meal. I am now prepared for the next race, which is on the 19th and starts at 6:04.

Talked to David and he told me that he was going to Linda’s yesterday. Sue also plans a visit and their paths will cross for a couple of days. Please keep Linda in your prayers she is not doing as well as we all pray that she will.

What a wonderful time we had at Epcot on Sunday! Pat & Dave outdid themselves for this visit. Helen and I arrive at their house about 9 and off we went to Epcot! The flowers were absolutely beautiful, wish I could remember all the names. It must cost Disney a fortune to have those flowers because many of them are not supposed to be in the sun, Dave says they change them out often and of course they get a lot of water.

Should have taken my camera but of course I didn't. One of the flowers that they had growing there was mustard! For those of us who went in the fields and pull the stuff, it was hard to understand! Mentioning that it cost a fortune for Disney, they on the other hand charge a fortune to see it so I guess it works out.

While there we went on a very neat ride, want to highly recommend it if you go there, it is called Soarin’ what a wonderful ride. It is a close up panoramic view of the high lights of CA. I think they should do one of every state, it was fantastic, Helen and I both enjoyed it but it wasn’t long enough! It got quite hot that day so we called it quits early (about 2:30) I think that Pat and Dave were a little disappointed that we didn't get to see the whole park but what we did see was wonderful! Thanks again to both of you!!!!

Helen came up on Tuesday evening and we had a great visit. Of course Diana showing up to spend the evening really made it great! We just chatted away so long we missed Dancing with the Stars and American Idol. Which is great because it meant we had something meaningful to do with our lives? Helen left for Maine on Wednesday and it was great having her.

Well I guess no one has seen my TV bed pillow and I certainly haven't heard from Carla on the pictures (Sorry Carla I put you in charge without asking you)

Last night I went to the Black and Gold game at the Stadium. Football is back in full swing for Todd, he has been practicing for the last couple of weeks.

I am so thrilled I now have all the Pride and Prejudice movies in my collection, still would like to have Sense and Sensibly as well as Room with a View and the collection will be complete. As you can see I think it is one of the best movies made ever!

Bet and her husbands are off to Mexico for a couple of weeks, I am sure they will have a great time, but Mexico is not one of the places I would like to see…going to miss her

Had lunch with Karen yesterday, don’t know if I ever mentioned that she is a former County Commissioner. It really was strange we were chatting along and in walked another former Commissioner. You won't believe it but no politics was discussed between the three of us by the way Happy Birthday Karen you are the greatest! She is like one of my children she won't get much past 21! Hope it is the best birthday ever!!!!
