It isn't what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are, that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about." Dale Carnegie
Lately I sure have a problem with the above. I will try to be positive in this letter, but I guess when you get older there is so much more to make you unhappy and there is nothing you can do about it. You just have to think positive!
Last Sat.we had a vestry meeting at the church. We go over all the things we have accomplished on our wish list and the things that need to be done in the coming year. A lot of the work that is done at the church is by people that volunteer, but a lot of it like cutting those big oak/pine tree's we have to get someone else to do, and it is costly. Our big dream for the coming year is to modernize our small kitchen. Hopefully we will be able to raise enough money to do that.
I guess the first thing I want to start off with is my daughter(Bill daughter) Dawn's son. He is very sick in his mind. A couple of weeks ago he spent the weekend in Circle's of care to get help. Well they only kept him over the weekend then let him out. Dawn was sure he was taking his med's but I don't think he was. He was supposed to come over and visit his grandfather but of course he didn't. What followed was awful for him as well as the rest of the family. He went to a house that was empty and went inside. The neighbor told him he should leave but of course he didn't. The police was called and he tried to escape buy going into the river. He is now charged with armed robbery (he had a boy scout knife on him). There is no bail in is in the hospital part of the jail. I am not telling you this to share our problem but to let you know there is little or no help for those people that are mentally ill. When he went to court, they asked him if he needed representation and he said no! Please be aware of people like this that are out there and the fact that when you are over 21 there is little or no help for them. I am not telling you this so you will feel sorry for us, but to make you aware we need help for these people so we won't have any more killings like the one at the Navy yard.
Want to wish a very happy birthday to dear friend Elaine Leclerc on the 25th, the best of birthday's to you Elaine. Then on the 26th, my Patrick will celebrate his birthday. Gosh, I am getting old, I would swear he was only 21 but something tells me he is older :). Happy Birthday dear Patrick!
Well my dear golf cart quit! I don't know what I did without it. I cut branches and carry them out to the road with it, take the garbage out etc. Thankfully there wasn't that much wrong with it...a new tire, a new battery (it has 6) and new bushings (what ever that is) But they had it just a short time and it is back running like a charm! So I am back in business this week to take the trash out to the road.
Want to tell you another thing I did, I needed another lamp in my office, so I ordered one from Amazon. I just looked at it, it took five bulbs and I just knew it was the right one! Had Todd put it together for me and guess what it takes 5 25
watt bulbs! I know you are thinking that should do it but somehow it really doesn't. I guess next time I will read what it says. :)
We had a new roof put on the house, did you know it can be a one man operation? Well it turned out that way. Poor guy I felt sorry for him up there in all this heat. But somehow he did it without having to work in the afternoon.
Here in Fl we have this grass that looks like saw grass but it isn't. It is every thick and very hard to kill. It sure had taken over behind one of our sheds and the lawn person wouldn't mow it. So Todd came over and cut it down with a cycle, then he sprayed it with roundup, hopefully that will do it.
I know you don't need to know about my Dr. appointments but I think this is something I should share with you. As I may or may not have told you I have an aneurysm on my stomach. Who knows how long I have had it but quite sometime. Last year my Dr. sent me to a specialist and he is watching it. It has not grown. When I went to see him this week, Diana went with me to make sure she knew the truth and nothing but the truth about it. So all is fine with me, if it starts to grow, he will do surgery. But the real reason I am telling you this is he told Diana that it was inherited. And all of us over 50 should be checked for it! So, I am passing it on!
Gosh, I got knocked over with news from you this week, come on now I am sure you have things to share with everyone.
Got a call from the realtor, seems they have showed Dad's house a couple of times and they had an open house there yesterday.
I have such a hard time fixing a dinner meal for us. Bill doesn't eat enough to keep a bird alive. So if you have some suggestions I would love them.
Got to make an appointment to get my car in for a check up..I am a little late doing it.
Next Monday I have a Local Planning Agency meeting, then on Friday is Baxley Manor. Wonder if I will get some yard work done in between:)
Remember no one loves you like you do! So take good care of you! Have a great week!
Lots of Love
a (aa) g~
