"If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes."  - Andrew Carnegie

Good morning all, did you have a great week? How is the weather where you are? For most of you in the New England states I hear you are having the worse blizzard since 97 or something like that. Please let me hear how you are doing, and pictures would be wonderful! The weather here for the last few days have been great. In the low 80's, that is perfect!

Last Saturday, Dad & I had dinner at the Olive Garden. But he still has the Red Lobster on his mind with those 30 shrimp for $12. If they are still running the special maybe we will go there next week since Judy will be here. I just don't like to take him alone with that ramp.

On Monday, I was up at 5 did my chores that had to be done around here (like taken out the trash) and then I was off to Melbourne to pick up Dad to take him to the wound center in Palm Bay. He had another skin graph, he just wants that leg to heal up but sometimes I feel it never will. But they are great people down there and they do their best. That is all we can asked for.

Got back to Merritt Island in time to have lunch with Karen.
We tried to solve the problems of the world, but we just scratched the surface....so we will have to do it again soon

Here she is with her beautiful horse Bo!

"Great nephew Ian"  is tearing up the track in NH. Look at him go....
He is also the 6th best hurdler in NH!

On Wednesday, I was off to Dad's again. I got there just in time for the therapist to take him for his walk. Really surprised me, he walk up the sidewalk to almost four houses and only needed to rest once. She has a list of exercises that he is suppose to do (in his chair) everyday. I don't think he does them, but he will for the next few weeks Had another eating experience with him Asked him what he wanted for lunch and he guessed he would have a sub. So I said how about trying something a little different Dad, you always get the Italian how about roast beef? Didn't matter to him. So that is what I got him, roast beef,  cheese, lettuce, tomato and lots of onions. I cut it in half and he usually only eats half of the half but this time he ate it all! Don't know if it was the exercise or the onions that made it taste so good to him!

On Thursday we were off to the VA, Bill had to have blood work and we had to straighten out his birth records. Got to say I didn't realize until then that he went into the Marines when he was 16, and just barley 16 at the time. All this time he has been telling them that he was born in 1927 but when they got the hospital records they had a conflict. Got that straighten out, but still can't get over going into war at that age!

At this point I want to wish Liz a very happy birthday on Monday! She is a sweet lady and wish her the very best of Birthdays! Tuesday is a busy day, Nephew Robert Paige and husband Bill will celebrate their birthdays. Happy birthday to you both!

In the mist of all the other stuff that is going on Bill's primary care giver at the VA wanted the cardiologist to see Bill as soon as possible. While I was at Dad's on Wednesday, the VA called and talked to Bill (who has decided that the GP said he shouldn't have any surgery and just go on the way he is). Now the Dr. at the hospital said he should see one in 10 days, which didn't happen, then the GP said ASAP....guess when his appointment is? March 14! When I called to talk to them, they said the patient was fine with that date! Oh, Lord help me!

Got a note from Elaine, she is doing fine but of course she over did it one day this week and had to pay the price.  But is back on track now and feeling better.

Today is Pioneer Day at our Church and I was asked to bring a southern soup.   I decided to make bean soup!  I put it in the crock pot last night...It smells good, but I put to much water in there...have to fix that...wish me luck!

Please let me know how all of you in NE are doing..we worry about you!

I guess that is it for this week...remember no one loves you like you do!

Lots of Love,

a, aa, ~g~
