"The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give your gift away."
Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week! Got to say mine has been very busy. The weather here has been quite nice, very windy tho and we are finally getting some much needed rain.
Sorry about all the misspelled words, I am at Diana's and I have not figured out how to check them on her computer.
So here goes with my week....into work at 3 to work the orbitor's move from the VAB to the landing field. Really am not sure why they had us come in so early they didn't start to move Discovery until about 6am. Got to say from my point of view that it was very depressing. I have seen it land, but this was so final. Got home about 9 and I was tired. The wind was quite strong (strong enough that they had to halt the mate/demate of Discovery)
On Monday, I was up and at em at 5 getting things done around the house before I left for Melboune. Dad was ready when I got there and off to the wound center we went. We only had to way a few minutes before they show us to a room. The Dr. did his skin graph and all went well. Dad was quite concerned because they said no bath's this week, but Lana worked it out with him. The big thing is I could not get a first thing appointment for next Monday. It had to be at 9, I also found out they book 6 people for the same appointment. The lady could tell I was upset about that and again I stressed his age an a long wait....hopefully all will go well.
Tuesday morning up early and into work at 4 to say goodbye to Discovery. It was quite impressive.....the plane taxied down to the bleechers and stopped for a few moments then continued down the run way and turned for the final take off. Lots of tears in peoples eyes I tell you and of course I was one of them. I understand the plane flew over D.C. for over an hour before it landed. The Smthonian already had a mock up of the shuttle, (it was the first shuttle ever built, the Enterprise) that will be taken to NY on Monday the 23rd. I hear you might even be able to see it in NJ.
Back home quickly after that to take Bill to the VA in Orlando. Was concerned about the traffic but all went well. They did minor surgery on his neck and they felt they got it all.
Mid afternoon I was off to Diana's to dog & guinea pigs sit. The dogs are no problem, they were so happy to see me. The only problem that I have had with them this week is thunder storms, it sure isn't like holding Cooca (they are Golden Retreavers). Now the guinea pig are a differnt story, they are as cute as can be. Here they are
Stacey put together bags of food to feed them twice a day, and you can only give them one thing at a time and wait until they are thru with that. Then there is cleaning up the poop, suppose to do that twice a day also. Don't know how she does it and works.....I hear that you can potty train them, think that is a good idea for her to do. :) I have been very concerned with Nancy allergies so she is only here when I have to go somewhere real early.
Wednesday off to Dad's again. For some reason he was really depressed that day, and there is nothing you can say or do to talk him out of it. Interesting day
I thought that I would have Thursday off but Nancy had a cancellation and wanted me to come in then rather that Friday. Plus Cocoa had to go to the beauty shop also :)
Friday morning up early to take Bill to the VA to the heart Dr. The Dr. feels the reason he heart rate is so low was one of his medications, so he is coming off that and next week we will be checking his blood pressure to see how it effect it. The good news for Friday is looks like they have sold the Toyota for Diana...one car & boat to go.
Lana took Dad to the eye Dr. also on Friday. The good news is he will have his new contacts and glasses next week, the bad news for Dad is it cost a lot of money :)
Diana & family are having a great time on their vacation. The girls have posted a lot of great pictures on Facebook but I thought that I would share this one with you...They were on their way to see the whales.
Krista, Stacey, Todd, Paul & Diana.
Felt so bad last week in my hurry I forgot to tell you daughter Dawn celebrated her birthday on the 19th. This week Diana will celebrate her birthday on the 26th. The best of birthdays to both of you. Love you lots!
Sorry to say I had not one taker on updateing each and every one of you so we will know you better. Cmon now you can do it.
I got to say that when I am home Cocoa is always on my heals, but don't think that will bother me as much any more...having three dogs in the bathroom can really make your day:)
Hope you have a great week, mine certainly looks better. Please take good care of yourself and remember no one loves you like you do
Lots of Love
