March 26, 2011

“In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony.”    Eva Evelyn Burrows, (born 15 September 1929) was the 13th  General of the Salvation Army

Good morning all hope that you have had a great week.  The weather here has been great, wish it would stay that way until June anyway  Everyday I have gotten a little weeding done, my the ground is dry, we need rain badly.  My roses continue to do great, got to spray them before the bugs start on them.

This week Dad & I had dinner at Olive Garden, still looking for suggestions of other places to take him.  I would like at least one other place that would make a different place each week for a month.  But he does love Olive Garden and his Lagana Clasico.  But most of all he likes his steak, so it is a change when we go to Olive Garden.

Went on Saturday to buy my week supply of carrots for the horse.  To my surprise they were all out of the big bunches and I asked why.  I was told that CA has had a lot of rain and the crops were washed out.  I could have gotten organic but they are much more expensive.  So on Sunday I went to BJ and evidently there crops had not been sold out.  I have been giving "Beautiful" about  10 lbs. a week.  This week I have added one apple a day.  The strange thing was when I went back to the grocery store on Monday they had the big bunches back, what's up with that?

On Monday I attended my Local Planning Agency meeting in Viera.  The last couple of months some of the members have been trying to convince the Commissioners that we should have only one meeting a month.  There reason is, that our addenda have been small and the price of gas.  There is good reasoning to that but the fact remains that the planning & zoning and the local planning agency are two different meetings and notices have to be sent out any way our chairman was for consolidation of the two meeting and will not let it go...I on the other hand can understand why Staff & the Commission don't want to combine them and said so at our last meeting saying "When we excepted this important position we knew that there were two meetings a month and we accepted it.  You are beating a dead horse to death".  He didn't show up at this meeting and I had to chair it!

On Tuesday, Bill decided he was going to put in tomato plants, as well as pepper plants.  Now I don't know if I have mentioned this before but he plants those things and then gives them about a cup of water a week.  Plus he planted them in sand!  So I asked him for one of the plants so now the race is on to see whose plants do better.

On Wednesday, Dad and I had a nice visit.  He tried to watch Joyce in action pertaining to Maine choosing the Whoppie Pie as the State of Maine dessert but Dad was not able to get it.  We could listen but we couldn't see it and if he can't see her he don't want to watch.  I sprayed for weed around his house, got to get some ant spray cause he has several nest there.  We had a nice lunch and off I went on my way home.  Stopped at Rockledge Gardens and got my Penta's, love those plants because they really draw the humming birds.

On Thursday I was up nice an early as I had my six month check up with my Dr.  Everything was just peachy and he will see me again in six months.

Bill was scheduled to have his surgery at 12:30, we received a call at 11, they had decided to cancel it because the anesthesiologist  was very concerned about his low sodium.  So before that can be done he will have to see his GP as well as a cardiologist.  Needless to say Bill was quite upset over it, he had fasted and did not have anything to drink all morning.  We will just have to wait and see what comes out of this.  He is scheduled for surgery on his ear on Monday, but I learned from the same  conversation that it will just be an office visit....I don't know

I have mentioned before that our dear Jess is expecting.  Just wanted to let you know she is doing fine and so is the baby.  I stole this picture just so you could see how fine she is doing..

She looks great in pink don't you think and she looks so happy

We are all so proud of Lana's oldest son Robert, he graduated yesterday from  Technical Institute(UTI). Mechanics, Ford Program.  He has worked hard to accomplish this working as well as attending school.   Wish I knew how to put these pictures side by side but I don't but here he is....

and here he is with his proud Mom...

We don't often see a picture of his wife Jen...

We are all so happy for him, but the sad thing is...he plans to take he new occupation and move to VA.

On a final note, I spoke to Stacey and it seems that many of you have not returned the RSVP's and it is getting down to the wire of March 30th!  She is very concerned it seems about 30 people (families) have not return them (Helen)  So I asked her if I could mention it in Just Chatting and she said yes....so if you are planning on attending the wedding and forgot/misplaced  the RSVP you can now send her an e-mail at Stacey.L.Spell@gmail.com  she also request when you do that you please put the names of those attending so she will get the spelling right for your place settings.   She would like me also to mention that at the time of the wedding the traffic will be very heavy so if you are traveling there you should make sure you have plenty of time.

Well I haven't had an update on Aunt Joyce/Uncle Omar or Aunt Ruby in a while, hope to hear good news soon.

I guess I have rambled on enough, please take good care of yourself and remember no one loves you as much as you do.

Lots of Love
