Good morning all and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011 TO YOU AND YOURS!
(Gloria had already done the colors so I borrowed it
)
It has been quite cool here and I believe the things I saved from the last frost, I lost in this one. This time I have been very slow in getting well but thanks to my family we had a very nice Christmas. David & Pat broke themselves in doing everything (they always do but this time more so) Had some problem with my oven but we made it work.
Just want to say it is now official Paul has formally asked Dan for Stacey's hand in marriage. The wedding will be in April. We are all excited for them and know all will be great...I will soon have another Grandson. It was wonderful have him here for Christmas. He seems like a very nice young man and Thank the good Lord he returned safe.
And to make it even more official, he proposed to her yesterday and gave her the ring! YEah!
The other exciting things that happen for Christmas was I got a new ring. Remember over a year ago I had a ring stolen that I had made 12-15 years before. I really loved the ring, got several estimates for it and they were all over $5,000---way more than I had paid for it which was $3,500. I have this friend from FEW that wheels and deals at any jewelry store she goes to.
I would put money on it she would wheel & Deal at Tiffiay's and come out a head. To make a long story short, she told me about this jewerler in SunTree I went and got a great deal on the ring. It isn't exaltedly the same, but I don't draw that well either. It is close enough and what a Christmas present from Bill. Got a lot of wonderful gifts for Christmas, a beautiful rose bush, a musical angel, gift certificates to my favorite places...if I had been feeling great it would have been the most wonderful Christmas ever!
Poor Dad he is feeling like his helpers are all falling by the way side. Not only have I been sick, Lana has come down with the flu. But we still have a back up in Diana & Nancy if he needs anything.
Helen had a wonderful time at Lisa's. Charlie was great! Everyone says they have not seen Helen so happy in a long while. BUT on her trip home on Wednesday life was not good for her! She had put her coat in her luggage (wouldn't need it till Boston), when she arrived in Boston, you got it...no luggage. She still had to catch a bus to Augusta and then drive home. Thankfully she had left a jacket & gloves in her car but what a trip!
My niece Liz posted this on her face book page...thought I would share it
like she said you couldn't tell that the roads were slippery by looking at them? We complain here in Florida about the cold but at least we don't have this!
On Wednesday, Nancy bought me some homemade turkey soup. It had all fresh veggies in it, think that is when I started to fell better.
Friend Bet got one of those fancy phones for Christmas, you know the ones you can check your e-mail, has a gps all that good stuff. So did Joyce & Jeff, expect Joyce will have it mastered in no time. But if Bet does, I may consider getting one myself. If nothing else the numbers are bigger.
In a way I got caught by a scam last week, no many of you would have caught on right away and I should have but didn't. Got this call from someone that sounded like my grandson and of course he needed money. Thankfully for me I am broke most of the time anyway so couldn't help him out....but beware of these kind of calls.
Not really much news to share with you since I have been just lying around sleeping a lot, playing with the computer and sleeping some more. Hopefully next week I will have more to say. Of course I would if you had let me know what was going on at your house.
Please take good care of you, cause no one loves you like you do!
Lots of Love
