December 19, 2010

Good morning all, hope that you have had a good week.  It has been cool for Florida down in the low 30's but I hear that it has been cold everywhere.  Had a great time trying to cover some of my plants, the wind was doing a better job of taking the stuff off than I was doing putting it on.  My friend Karen suggested rocks to hold the cover but I used some of my China wall to hold them now I just have find where I took each one to put them back.

Dad and I had a nice visit and enjoyed our dinner at Olive Garden.  Don't know how it is where you  live, but the Olive Garden in Melbourne will never want for dinners.   They are always packed.

On Sunday, Bet and I drove over to Pat & Dave's in Orlando.  Then Dave did the driving from there on which was great because both Bet & I agreed if we were driving we would have been lost. Pat is in the Bach Festival Society and they were performing at Rollin's college.  It was called a Classic Christmas.  The Society, and the orchestra was excellent, beautiful music.  Bet throughly  enjoyed it, me?  I thought that it was 3/4 of hour too long (it lasted 1 1/2 hrs).  Got to say my favorite part was when we had dinner at the Aztec  (love Mexican food and so does Bet)  Although, all was very good that was my favorite part.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions on Tipping.  I was  sent several web sites that agreed it was a good idea to extra tipping for those who give you service during the year.  Those sites suggested how much to give everyone from the mail man to your hair stylist but none of them said how much to give the garbage man.  You see Dad's has person has to get out of the truck and go to the back of the house to get the trash and I want to reward him for his good service.  Oh well I have came up with the "$20 rule"  so it will have to work.

When I arrived home on Sunday evening I learned that Paul had arrived back in the States.  It just so happened they landed at Bangor.  I was told as the soldiers got off the plane everyone in the airport clapped.  Isn't that wonderful.  We need to read about things like that in the paper and see it on TV.  It reminded me of a stewardess that I met at Rand's wedding.  She serves on those planes that take them over and brings them back.  She said she is taking them there safely for their loved ones and that she would be back to bring them home safely.  This stewardess was my age...what a wonderful life....The good news is Stacey along with Diana & Dan went to Savanah yesterday to bring him home this weekend.

On Tuesday, I took Cocoa to the groomer...at 8 I gave her a sedative to relax her.  She hates to ride in the car and isn't too fond of going to the groomer (as well as the Vet).  I have been giving her a half  pill but it doesn't seem to faze her, so this time I gave her a whole one.  It didn't seem to make a difference.  Picked her up and brought her home and about an hour later, she became sleepy...it had finally hit her.   So back to the half  a pill  for her

Last week I mentioned that Helen & Stephene will be grand mothers again.  It has been a while since I have showed you a picture of the one beautiful grandchild they have now.  Here is a picture of granddaughter Kaylyn with Grandma Stephanie!

Joyce & Jeff arrived on Monday, Dad was so pleased to see them.  Joyce got busy making him a cake and cleaning his kitchen.  Jeff fixed a light that he was concerned about in the garage, etc.  I finally got to see them on Wednesday when Joyce & I got beautified, afterward we had a nice lunch at the Olive Garden.  That is when they got the news their basement was flooded, and the electric was off and so was their hot water heater.    But thankfully Jeff knew just who to call and by now all is back in working order...bet they won't forget this Christmas
Pat & David has been volunteering for the Toys for Tots just about every chance they get.

Proud of them, we need to help others as much as we can.

Yesterday was Baxley Manor Day proud to say everyone got gifts and we loaded their pantry.  I can never thank the people who help make this possible enough.  These old people are so grateful...We had so much to put a way and they were just like children waiting for their gifts.  It was wonderful!!!

Sunday, Joyce, Jeff & I are off to meet Pat & Dave for the Candlelight event at Disney .  I am sure we will have a great time.

I would like to thank everyone for the beautiful Christmas cards, I am sorry I don't send out cards . I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year!  Remember please take good care of yourself because no one love you like you do!

Lots of Love
