October 16, 2010

Good morning all, got to say this has been a quiet week for me but next week will make up for it.   Did do some pruning with my new saw, got to say I keep finding mussels I didn't know I have using that long pole.  At least the tree's are starting to look manicured.

Want to start right off with the Birthday's....a very happy birthday to you Blair...21 right?  Want to thank you again for all those wonderful pictures.  Then on the 18th dear friend Shirley will celebrate...I would say how long we have been friends but it might make her look old.  A very happy birthday to you dear friend!

Dad and I had dinner on Saturday at the Outback.  He really isn't into the Outback because the place is no bright enough for him.  But he did enjoy his meal and was pleased with the service.  Makes it hard for me I like to give him something different but he most always has the steak.  I guess that is something different from what he has every other night of the week. (frozen dinners)

Here is a recent picture of him with Nancy when we had dinner at Grills.

We are all so proud of sister Lana, she has been in the nursing profession for over 30 years and has been a LPN for at least 20.  She is now studying to become a full fledge RN.  She took her first test and passed.   I just know she will be one of the best RN there is!

Got a note from Gloria about Aunt Ruby, she  had been battling a strong cold the week the last time they went to visit her.  Thankfully that deep coughing was under control.  With the healing of her hip and the cold, she didn't have much energy.  The physical therapist works with Aunt Ruby daily and little by little she feels less pain.  She is able to navigate around the floor with her wheelchair again.  Gloria said Aunt Ruby would love to hear from all of you so, get that card and get it in the mail... Here is her address:
                                 Phoebe Ruby Watt
                                 P. I. Nursing Home
                                 162 Academy Street
                                 Presque Isle, ME  04769

Got my card ready to go to day...and while your picking up a card don't forget William.

It is so wonderful that we are now in contact with Charles again.  I hate to see the family lose track of each other.  I am just sick that we have lost contact with Aunt Nora & Uncle Dan family.   Anyway just to share some pictures of the Morrells.

Please note the quote today...it is so true and many people use, including politician   I always try to get information on the author but I could get any on him.  I know it is an old saying can anyone help on this one?

Got some good news this week from my homeowners association.   We still have florescent lights in our kitchen...they are on their last legs but Bill keep replacing them.  We have been storing the old ones in the garage, thinking that one day I would take them over to Cocoa.  But in the newsletter I learned that you can call waste management and they will deliver a special vapor lock bag to put them in.  When the bag is full they will come to pick it up.  Of course nothing happens over night...I called and it will be 5-10 days before they deliver the bag...who knows how long it will be before they pick it up....but at least it won't be sitting in the garage.

Isn't it wonderful that they saved all those minders.  What a blessing!

My niece Lisa works the  The Humane Society of North Texas .  It's the largest non profit shelter in Texas, located in Fort Worth and they take in over a hundred animals a day.   But we do make a big difference and we are currently number 2 in the annual ASPCA Challenge.  If they win, the shelter gets 100,000.  They get that through how many adoptions we do to save another life.  But there is another prize for 25,000 to the shelter with the most votes of community support.  This shelter needs the money badly.  They run on donations only and because of the location, people use it as a public dumping ground.  You can use the link below once a day per email address.  Of course she would like you to vote for her shelter, it is an easy thing to do and you can help save animals lives, it's the only shelter chosen from the state so it's easy to find on the list)  Check it out and please try to help.

http://www.votetosavelives.org/  Pass it on if you like...every vote counts
Well I guess that is about it for this week, love hearing from you.  Please keep it up.   Take good care of you, we love you but no one loves you like you do!

Lots of Love
