Dad is really enjoying his exercise class. He says the exercise are not that hard but they sure work a number on him. He has had trouble with his shoulder since he had that accident a little more than a year ago and this is really helping him. He goes four times a week which is really great it not only helps his body, it gets him out of the house.
Helen, Dad and I dined at Chili’s last Saturday. Helen likes it there, she wishes they had one where she lives. We had a great visit and we always enjoy each others company. Dad loves it when the sisters come and visit him, each one is special. They all love to read, but Helen is the greatest reader of them all, but he still loves their visits.
Helen spent the night with us on Sunday and Monday I took her to get her rental car. It was also a day of beautification for her…she spent the rest of the day at Nancy’s shop.
On Monday evening I had my Local Planning agency meeting at three in Viera. It was a full meeting, but I got a lot upset because we had a room (about a hundred) people there all wanting to speak. The first item was a change in the Comprehensive plan for the north area of the county. The chair of the board said that everyone would be able to speak but they would be allotted five minutes to do so. Well that is what he said but that is not what he did.
I have served on that board for 14 years and I have seen several of these studies it is about future land use not the present zoning and I don’t think many on the board now know the difference. At 6:30 they were still debating what was to happen and finally at 10 minutes of 7 they decided to remove it from the plan.
The people that were there said they had never heard of the study, did not want the study and wanted it to go away. Which is another thing that upsets me this has been going on for two years signs everywhere in the area and it was published in the newspaper but they didn’t know anything about it.
I find that is true of most people until it comes to there yard they don’t care about their neighbors. Anyway, at 7:30 I left I couldn’t stand it anymore. I came home turned the TV on and the meeting was still going. Before I went to sleep at 10 I set the TV to record the meeting which it did for two hours more and they were still going.
I know I should have stayed at the meeting but the meeting was dragged on way to long by just letting people talk for ever, that didn’t even know what was going on. So that is my story and I am sticking to it.
Tuesday was my baking bread day which is always a long day for me. I made seven double loaves of bread, two large pans of cinnamon rolls and two large loaves of banana nut bread.Wednesday was my day for pies, I made two apple, four pumpkin, one cherry, three chocolate, and one strawberry. Whew that was a full day but I always enjoy the results so I am not complaining. Didn’t get a picture of that will try at Christmas. It certainly fills the refrigerator in the garage and it all walks away when they leave, except the one I make for Bill this year it was pumpkin.
Thanksgiving Day was a real blessing for me! Pat and David got here early to help prepare everything. That David is a wonderful help, I can not stop bragging about how much he help me and he certainly made the day complete. Everyone jumped in and help get everything ready but David started early and kept right at it all day.
If I was going to give out an award to who ever help the most it certainly would have been him! Dad and Helen came for awhile, everyone was so pleased to see them. The day can only be cauterized at terrific, wonderful and all those great words. I just loved hearing them all chat together and laugh it was great! Hope your day was as great!
While all my grand children were here I got a picture of them. Aren’t the all great! Hope at Christmas time I can get pictures of my children, those pictures are far and few between.
My friend Sandy had knee surgery and all seemed to be going well when she got staff infection in the knee and had to spend another week in the hospital. She is home now, but has to make a trip to the Doctors office in Viera everyday. My FEW sisters are trying to help here all they can.
Then my friend Lori (who does all the shopping for Baxley) got a cyst behind her knee that was filled with fluid and it ruptured. Then she had a tear in the meniscus behind her knee and had to have laparoscopic surgery on her knee on Wednesday. She is doing much better but is not sleeping well.
Then my friend Sandra has Fibromyalgia, have you ever heard of it? You have pain all over your body and the Doctor can never find out why. She was diagnosed with it, told to take Celebrex and see an Acupuncture Doctor. Which she has started to do, the pain is not so intense but still enough to make you miserable!
The reason I told you about them is we never realize how bad someone has life until it touches us. We all have our troubles but thankfully others seem to have it worse. Please remember them in your prayers.
Sunday Helen and I are going to join Pat and David for a day at Disney! It is wonderful to see all those lights and here all the wonderful music. We are looking forward to it.
Have not heard how Aunt Ruby is doing but I assume she is about the same.
Got a note from Sue, she and Paul stayed home for Thanksgivng. But it sounded like she was kind of having the day I was afraid I was going to have…she turned the oven on and Paul turned it off thinking he had turned it on. So the turkey wasn’t done. In my case all was done but the potatoes and it seemed it took for ever to get them done. But like in all the other stuff I was doing David just jumped it and took care of it. So it turned out well after all.
Have not heard from many of you in a while, drop me a note I want to hear from you. Have a great week and take good care of yourself!
Lots of Love
a (aa) Mom`g`
