Good morning everyone the weather has been a little cool for us here in Florida, but nothing that we can really complain about. One night it was suppose to get below freezing but it certainly didn’t here where we live. It did affect one of my plants but not the rest. Maybe it was sick anyway.
I attended along with three others from my church the Central Florida Episcopal Dioceses conference last Saturday. One of the things I learned that day was there are 43,000 different Christian churches. Hard to believe there are that many Christian churches and we are all trying to head to the same place. Guess that is why God gave us free will, so we can decide just which way to serve him. Of course the underline reason for the conference was to go about the business of the Church. Some of it was very frustrating, other stuff very funny and enjoyable.
Last week, Dad had some trouble with his right leg, it seemed to be going out on him. It caused us all some worry, but it is all better now or so he says. He had a wonderful day last Sunday; two of his grandchildren were there to visit and to serve. Diana gave Cisco a bath, which she does loyally every Sunday and William came up from Palm Beach and mowed his lawn, edged and used the blower on the leaves. Then on the “supposed to be the coldest day for us this winter” his air system went out. His heat and air system is 17 years old and it finally bit the dust. He called the vendor and he was able to do something to keep it working for awhile, so now he has to get a new one. It was installed yesterday, so he has had a busy week!
Continued information on the passport thing, I understand that you can go to the County Court house and get your papers and have it also processed at the same place. The thing that I have to find out is the Post Office charges you a processing fee of $30 is the same true if you have it done at the County Court House?
Another very special Birthday coming up on Monday is for Uncle Gib! He will celebrate his 79th Birthday! Hope it is one of the best birthdays that you have ever had! Happy Birthday! You may send your best wishes to him at WGW911@aol.com
I guess this is the helpful hint section of “Just Chatting” I am sure if you have ever processed your own taxes you have received copies already from your chosen vendor of those tax packages. But did you know if you make $52,000 or less you can go to the IRS site on line and do your taxes for free? They have a large number of vendors such at H&R Block and TuboTax. You can find them at this site. http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html
Also, don’t know how the ants are where you are but they are awful here in Florida. I read in the paper the other day that grits scattered the same way as many of the ant baits will work just as well and it isn’t harmful to the environment! I just knew there had to be something that grits were good for J
I finished with my paper work for my new badge at KSC. Really the only hard part of it was remembering the dates. It was only to be filled out for the last five years, since I live such a simple life there wasn’t much to put down. But when I went out to give her my papers it took an hour to redo it and make corrections. For instance when I graduated High School the address was High street I think. Well that wouldn’t do, we had to go on line and look up the correct address which is High School Street. The other problem I had was my name…simple right? NO way…My middle name is Grace, I was named after my great aunt who was a beautiful graceful person and it is a beautiful name but graceful I am not. From the time I was confirmed and the Bishop called my name Aneta Grace Willett and I tripped and almost landed in his lap I knew that Grace was not a name for me. So when I married I dropped the middle name and took my maiden name as my middle name. I use it on everything! Well I had to change that on my form at least a dozen times…Even though it does say Aneta W. Ott on my badge now…It has got to be Aneta Grace……
Well other than what is above I have lived a very quiet week. The most excitement that I have had is letting Cocoa out to chase the peacocks out of my bird feeder or to chase the squirrels out of them. She is persistent that is for sure, the other day she had a squirrel trapped on the top of the swing set and it was pouring out. She hates the rain but she disliked the squirrel more she must have been out there an hour. Mean while I am watching the beautiful baby buntings feeding in the other bird feeder.
Hope you all have a wonderful week and the weather agrees with you! We are counting down the days before Joyce will arrive on the 19th.
Lots of Love,
a (aa) Mom & ~g~
