Janurary 20, 2007

What a great morning it is, I hope that yours is going great as well. The weather here has been just wonderful, a mixture of sun with a smidgen of rain here and there. It has been great to work in the yard and I really feel like I got something accomplished, in fact you can see the difference. So I am quite please with that, got half of my hedge done and hopefully I can finish it this week.

Dad is doing very well, he continues to be his own house cleaner (although he says he doesn’t know how to dust) and has that duty assigned on Friday. He also does his own laundry as well as the up keep of his yard. Just think, will you be able to do that when you are 89? We had a nice visit on Saturday and went to UNO’s for dinner.

Last Sunday I attended the Deanery meeting in Melbourne. For those of you that are not involved with the workings of your church you should be you would be surprise what your priest/pastor has to put up with. But I found it very informative and it did prepare me of what is to come at the convention the end of this month. I have suggested to my priest that the delegates from our church should meet to go over what we have learned, but everyone has so many meetings I doubt that it will happen.

On Monday I went to see the attorney, got to say that I was not at all pleased with the information that I gathered from him. But, at least I am on my way to getting that part taken care of.

I had lunch with my dear friend Karen on Monday at a new Amish restaurant that is in Cocoa. It is a neat restaurant can you believe that you get ice cream as a side dish?

Nancy’s friend Judy passed away this week. Bless her heart she doesn’t have to suffer any more. This reminded me of the sermon that Fr. Roberts gave on Sunday. We asked God for so many things we want because we think it is best we never leave it up to him.

Tuesday I attended the NASA Alumni League meeting at the Radisson in Cocoa Beach. The attendance seems to be growing each month, could that be because so many are retiring?

Uncle Gib tells me that they have had some really cold weather in Southern CA. He is concerned that it will raise the price on vegetables as well as fruit. I know they have had very cold weather in most of the west. Got to say that last weekend that parts of Maine did get some snow, this whole week it looks like bad weather all along New England.

Very important Birthday coming up this week, great nephew Jacob will turn 7 on the 26th. He is a very special boy and I hope he has a wonderful birthday!

Judy informed me that all US citizens going to Canada/Mexico will have to have a pass port to reenter the US. Says it is true, when I check it out on line. I found out the cost of the passport, but can’t find where I would have to go to apply. I am trying to decide if I really need one, the only reason I go to Canada in the first place is to put flowers on my grandparent’s grave.

A meeting was called this week out at work about new badges for all KSC including the volunteer retiree’s. If you are lucky (me) and they have done a back ground check on me in the last 10 years, I will not have to fill out the paperwork that is required. It would be just like I was applying for a job again. I am hoping that they have done the background check, I don’t know if I can remember all the stuff that is required.

I got my notice that my 50th class reunion will be held July 19th. Always look forward to my class reunions; it is great to see all my old friends. Do you go to yours, if not why not?

Yesterday was Baxley Manor day and all went well. I feel so sorry for those people there by the grace of God go I.

Hope you and yours have a great week and things go well for you and yours.

Lots of Love,
a (aa) Mom & ~g~
