"It takes less time to do a thing right, than it does to explain why you did it wrong" Henry W. Longfellow

Good morning all, hope that you have had a great week! My life is kind of boring right now, getting old and don't do much.

Dawn got a new car this week, well not brand new. It is a 2009 KIA and she loves it. If she loves it, that is all that counts. Her old car fell apart and she sold it for salvage.

Went to the heart Dr. this week and all is looking good. My only problem with that visit it they told me the wrong office, not to happy to be running around lost at 8:30 in the am. :)

Last Sunday the girls and I went thru a trunk that we had stored at Dad's. Found some interesting things.
Yesterday was Baxley Manor day. I can't believe some of the great deals Lori & Jan get! We stocked them up with toilet paper & tissues, plus other stuff. They are always so grateful for them.

I am having such a hard time to identify my incoming mail, I swear the print has become smaller, I hate to open it if I don't know what it is. I hate to go to another mail address because this is the one I have given out for years and I just can't find out how to make it larger.

So proud of Joyce, I don't know how she has the time to do all that she does. She is now co-chair's the Polar Bear swim for the Washington County Community College.
Photo: I need your help. I agreed to work with Katherine Cassidy to help raise funds to support WCCC in raising funds for polar bear dip. You will find the story below. Please send your check either to either of us or directly to the college made out to WCCC Polar Bear Dip. Proceeds go two places -- Ronald McDonald House in Bangor, and, also for the first time this year, Sarah's House in Holden. I call out to all the employees of WCCC both current and retired to help me out.

AUGUSTA Two Washington County lawmakers are reaching across the aisle and teaming up in a novel way to support a local polar bear dip.

Rep. Joyce Maker, R-Calais, has long supported the effort by Washington County Community College, where she worked for 36 years. But there s one thing she just can t do, even for WCCC: go into that frigid water.

Enter Rep. Katherine Cassidy, D-Lubec, who has proven her mettle when it comes to swimming into near-freezing waters for a good cause. On Jan. 1, she jumped into 39-degree Atlantic waters and raised more than $510 for Lubec s fund to help elderly residents pay for heating oil.

In the lawmakers arrangement, Maker will line up donors while Cassidy will literally take the plunge to make some cold cash for the beneficiaries of the WCCC polar dip.

I m honored to have Rep. Maker backing me as I go into that freezing cold water, said Cassidy. I can t wait to celebrate helping a worthy cause with her once I warm up.

The 14th annual polar dip organized by the WCCC Student Senate will benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor and Sarah s House in Holden, which serves adults in need of cancer treatment. It takes place on Friday, Jan. 31, at noon at Split Rock on the Pleasant Point Reservation on Route 180.

The WCCC event won t mark the first time the lawmakers have collaborated on an issue close to home.

They have worked together, meeting with community health care leaders, in the aftermath of the shutdown of Atlantic Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Calais. The closure led to the loss of 90 jobs and added hardships for families who needed to find new long-term care for their loved ones. Cassidy has introduced legislation this session to address challenges faced by long-term care facilities and Maker is a co-sponsor.

Maker said it won t be the last time the two work together.

Anything to do with Washington County, Maker said. It s not a political thing. It s about helping Washington County.
No way she is going to participate in the swim but it is for a good cause, they raise money for the school and the Ronald McDonald house.  She also announced this week that she will be running for a 3rd term for the Legislature.

Lana has pretty much given up flip flops for the winter..here is a picture of her walking the dog, it was taken thru the screen and you can
see no flip flops :)

Before Baxley yesterday I went out to the stables where Karen keeps Bo to pick up her donation.  She was out on a ride so I didn't get to see Bo....But she did have carrots there...so I feed some of them to the horses I visited. :)  High light of my week!

Well I guess that is it for this week,
Remember no one loves you like you do! So take really good care of you!
Lots of Love
a (aa) g~
