October 20, 2012

Remember, happiness doesn't depend on who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think.
~Dale Carnegie

Good morning all, want to start right off and get something corrected that I put in Just Chatting last week.
Zoe, Helen's granddaughter, Dean's daughter...did not turn 15 on the 14th...she was 16 on that special day and we all know what a difference a year makes! So sorry Zoe, I have corrected it on my calendar. Hope it was a wonderful day!

Last Saturday, Helen & I took Dad to Applebee's for dinner, he enjoyed it and at least it was a change. Read in the paper the Darden group (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and I believe the Long Horn) switched all there full time help to part time so they will not have to pay benifits for them, at least here locally anyway. So sad, if it was my doing, I would not eat there but Dad likes them.

On Monday, I attended out Brevard County Planning & Zoning meeting. On the sad side one lady had five trailor's across the street from her property and no one has lived in them for many years. Someone was there asking for a trailer on .36 acres of that property. She is concerned for her safety as well as for her children and animals. She has 3 1/2 acres and brought pictures to show how well maintained it is, as well as pictures from across the street. She has been treat end and is quite concerned. Of course there was nothing we could do about it and had several suggestions....the trailor was passed. The good and bad news is the cell phone tower was turned down by my board. The information that we received pointed out that a cell tower was needed in the area but they would not concede to making the tower aesthetically pleasing to the eye...they would have less carriers if they did that....(money)

Tuesday, I was back from my shot in my left eye. Hope everyone is getting their eyes checked regularly, this is not a fun thing and I am now having a hard time reading small print. But thankfully I still do very well with everything else.

Wednesday, I was off to Dad's.....took a bag of mulch and fertilizer to take care of his bleeding heart. He had never noticed it before until about four months ago, now it is very important to him. Mom brought it from Maine when they moved here.

He wanted me to check his ballot, we have a lot of amendments on our ballot and he wanted me to help him with them. When I got there, He had marked his ballot for the people he wanted to vote for but on a couple of the amendments he had marked them, then erased so much that the voting box was gone. I knew they would just throw that ballot out..so Helen called the Election Office and told them the problem and he told me last night the new one came so we will get that done today.

Now for the birthday's, hope I get this right! A very happy birthday to Alex today, I believe he will be 20.. growing up fast! Then on the 22, Ann Morell will celebrate, the 23 Melissa Maker a very happy birthday to you all!!!

Judy & Greg are off this weekend to Rhode Island to a wedding. Of course they will stop in Salem to see Eloise!

Diana left Thursday evening for Milford, NH. I am so pleased that she is able to get away for a few days and I know Liz & Rik will see that she does.

Helen is doing well with her Ancestry.Com. Several people have added to it and it is coming along great. One of the things that we found out was one of Clyde's relatives served in the civil war. I think he did that because of his middle name...get this...Daniel Outhouse Todd....where that came from I sure would like to know.
Got some news this week cousin Elaine has a mass in her kidney, a lot to go thru, please keep her in your prayers...

Well I guess that is it for this week, remember no one loves you like you do and have a great week!

Lot's of Love,
a, aa ~g~
